Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Landscaping Supervisor to join our team at Black Tar Construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of landscaping projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the planting of trees, gardens, and lawns, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.
  • Hire, supervise, and schedule staff to meet project demands, promoting a safe and productive work environment.
  • Organize and direct the construction of decks, decorative or retaining walls, and other landscape features, adhering to company standards and regulations.
  • Plan and estimate labor and materials, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Resolve work problems by providing technical advice, recommending measures to improve productivity and product quality, and maintaining accurate records and logs.
  • Tender and administer contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Read blueprints and drawings, identifying potential issues and developing solutions to ensure project success.
  • Repair and maintain equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies, adhering to company procurement policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in landscaping or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor, working in a variety of weather conditions.
