- Collecting patient's dental and relevant medical history, to reference during examinations
- Preparing patients for the Orthodontist
- Preparing patient and equipment for X-Rays
- Taking X-Rays and following all safety procedures as required
- Examining gums for infections or gum disease
- Cleaning patient's teeth to remove plaque, polish, floss, and brush
- Bonding and removal of brackets and orthodontic appliances
- Placing and removing arch wires
- Educating patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress
- Updating patient records and examination notes
- Performing all lab duties/requirements as instructed by the Orthodontist or leadership team
- Preparing and maintaining all dental instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Calling patients for aftercare and answering questions
- Traveling to satellite locations if/when necessary
- Maintaining a positive attitude and working cohesively with fellow team members to provide an atmosphere of trust, respect, and cooperation
- Possessing great energy for a fast-paced environment
- 2+ years' experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred but not required
- Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program
- Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within the province, in good standing
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal, and the ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease
- Great time management and organizational skills
- Experience in an orthodontic office is preferred but not required
- Current CPR and First Aid training
