Job Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I is accountable for the operation, maintenance, and repair of facility systems and equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, monitoring, and reporting on facility systems to ensure reliable environmental conditions and utilities are provided to production, packaging, laboratory, warehouse, and office areas.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain facility systems to provide reliable environmental conditions and utilities.
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility systems and equipment to ensure reliability and optimal performance.
- Carry out timely completion of preventative maintenance work orders and analyze trending reports to identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding work activities and issues that affect other areas.
- Participate in maintenance shutdown activities and plan for future maintenance needs.
- Prepare reports and updates for management and customers.
- Respond to BAS/FMS alarms and carry out necessary corrective actions.
- Supervise contractors performing contract services and support capital projects related to facility systems.
- Order parts and consumables and stay within operating budget.
- Support the validation team in carrying out validation projects related to facilities equipment.
- Provide technical expertise to facilities and maintenance staff and outside contractors.
Qualifications
- Trade certification in a recognized college.
- TSSA certified 4th Class Stationary Engineer or Refrigeration 'B' Operator.
- Licensed millwright or refrigeration mechanic is an asset.
