Quality Lead

Job Summary:

The Quality Lead is responsible for overseeing the site-wide consumer safety and quality program implementation and continuous improvement. This includes managing the quality agenda, participating in the site leadership team, and ensuring compliance with HACCP processes, Unilever Corporate policies, and Supply Chain Nutrition initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive current and future quality performance in areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, Delivery, and Morale using WCM operating framework.
  • Establish, lead, and deliver quality systems for the site.
  • Coach and recommend promotional opportunities for teammates.
  • Closely manage D Incidents, inspect, and recommend dispositions.
  • Support innovations and quality training for the factory.
  • Support installation of new laboratory equipment, ensuring Installation Qualifications, Operational Qualifications, and Performance Qualifications are completed as required.
  • Participate in WCM Pillar membership and drive loss reduction.
  • Complete all Unilever required testing, inspection, and analysis of incoming raw materials, packaging materials, compounding batches, and finished goods using cGMP's and GLP.
  • Act as subject matter expert on decisions related to quality programs and processes.
  • Provide technical information/feedback related to product inquiries or complaints.
  • Ensure all products meet or surpass defined quality standards.
  • Responsible for food safety programs.
  • Participate in site leadership team.
  • Hire, develop, and manage quality team, build quality talent (recruitment, coaching, training).
  • Participate in developing, maintaining, and implementing quality learning frameworks, quality skills dictionary, and job skill profiles.
  • Support regional and export markets to ensure quality standards and regulatory requirements are met.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree preferred in technical discipline (Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Microbiology preferred).
  • 3 or more years' experience in a manufacturing operation and a strong technical skill set.
  • Ability to utilize WCM or other problem-solving methodology/tools to determine root cause and deploy a systematic approach.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team towards common goals and encourage team development.
  • Must have the ability to manage project and project teams from inception to completion, including hitting deadlines.
  • Strong computer, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with HACCP and other QA regulations preferred.
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred.
