Job Overview


PolarPak Company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Thermoforming Machine Operator - Production Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating thermoforming machines to produce high-quality products.



Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned thermoforming machines at prescribed production rates, ensuring efficient and safe production processes.
  • Start and stop machines safely at the beginning and end of production, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Pick up product piles and pack them into boxes, lifting and placing boxes on skids as needed.
  • Remove scrap plastic from machines and place it in designated containers, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Erect, seal, and palletize packaging material according to specified pallet patterns, ensuring accurate and efficient packing.
  • Enter appropriate codes on control screens for different types of downtime and errors, providing clear and concise documentation.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor machine/operation issues, such as product jams or sticking in hot plates, taking prompt action to resolve problems.
  • Alert relevant personnel, including Cell Leaders and Cell Lead Operators, about production, safety, and quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform all prescribed quality checks, following product specs, packaging specs, and quality guidelines mentioned in work orders, one-point-lessons, and picture specs.
  • Pack the correct number of parts in boxes according to work order requirements.
  • Conduct efficient and safe roll changes, following the prescribed machine start-up procedure after each roll change, and scan material tags into the data collection system.
  • Maintain adequate supplies (material rolls and packing materials) at machines as per work order requirements.
  • Provide training to new operators as needed and offer relief breaks to other operators when required.
  • Generate and scan product labels as necessary and complete traceability documents accurately.
  • Ensure the use of appropriate skid types as mentioned in work orders.
  • Follow lockout/tag-out procedures whenever required, prioritizing safety and security.
  • Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately and promptly.
  • FOLLOW THE MASTER CLEANING SCHEDULE, SANITATION, AND HYGIENE PROCEDURES, INCLUDING DAILY SUPERFICIAL CLEANING.
  • MAINTAIN PROPER HOUSEKEEPING AND 5S IN OWN WORK AREA AND AROUND WORK UNITS.

    Requirements

    • A team player with excellent multi-tasking abilities, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Good communication skills in English (verbal and written), with the ability to clearly convey information and instructions.
    • Must pass numerical/comprehension tests, demonstrating strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Able to work day and/or night shifts, adapting to changing schedules as needed.


    What We Offer

PolarPak Company offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
