Job Description

This role is based in Pointes-aux-Trembles, Montréal, Québec.

Overview

Ganotec is a full-service contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. We conduct our business through various commercial contract styles, including full turnkey, EPC, design build, T&M, and conventional discipline packages.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of all purchasing aspects from pre-bid to closeout.
  • Negotiation of contracts and policies with suppliers, subcontractors, and professional service providers.
  • Commercial term negotiation with equipment vendors, material vendors, professional service providers, and subcontractors.
  • Monitoring and execution oversight of the purchasing buy-out.
  • Direction and coordination of personnel engaged in buying and/or estimating materials, equipment, subcontract, and professional services.
  • Staff training oversight.
  • Vendor evaluation and qualification for materials and equipment, subcontractors, and professional service providers.
  • Requisitions processing and purchase orders preparation for supplies and equipment.
  • Purchasing and contract management policy development and implementation.
  • Maintenance of records for goods ordered and received.
  • Market and delivery system analysis for present and future material availability assessment.
  • Vendor or contractor grievance resolution and claims review.
  • Purchase order or subcontractor claims and contract review for conformance to company policy.
  • Administration of online purchasing systems oversight.
  • Purchasing policy and procedure communication to project teams.
  • Policy and procedure adherence training provision.
  • Financial planning, expediting, delivery schedules, and project purchasing reporting responsibilities.
  • Purchasing analytics, reporting, and deliverables development and review.
Qualifications
  • Experience as a project procurement manager or construction/heavy industry manager with a proven track record of project completion and hydropower experience as an asset.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and general database knowledge, with SAP experience considered beneficial.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, administration, engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent, or a minimum of five years' experience in engineering or construction, or equivalent work, military, or related experience.
  • Familiarity with standard engineering, procurement, and construction equipment and materials.
  • Strong preference for hydropower experience.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, highly motivated, and possessing a strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to implement supply management and logistics processes.
  • Time management and organization skills.
  • Efficient task performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate ideas orally and in writing.
  • Teamwork and independent work capabilities to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Functional knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered an asset due to mobility across provinces in Canada, with lessons available as needed.
Salary

The estimated annual salary range for this position is between $120,000 to $180,000 CAD, depending on qualifications and experience.
