Clinical Informatics Specialist for Comprehensive Cancer Care

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Informatics Specialist to join our team at BC Cancer, part of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing comprehensive cancer control for the people of British Columbia.

About the Job

This is a permanent full-time position. The salary for this role is approximately $98,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical informatics and experience working in a healthcare setting. You will be responsible for designing and implementing electronic health information systems, developing clinical content, and providing training and support to end-users.

Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement electronic health information systems to support clinical practice and patient care;
  2. Develop and maintain clinical content, including data dictionaries, databases, tables, reports, and related standards, protocols, and procedures;
  3. Provide training and support to end-users on the use of clinical information systems and applications;
  4. Liaise with stakeholders, including clinicians, IT staff, and project managers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration;
  5. Participate in the planning, coordination, and evaluation of upcoming releases of electronic health information systems;
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field;
  • Current practicing registration as a RN or RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM);
  • Three (3) years' experience in a Clinical Informatics environment, including experience facilitating or participating in Clinical and Systems Transformation (CST) implementation;
  • Demonstrated experience in policy and procedure development, business process analysis, and reengineering techniques;
  • Knowledge of project management practices, methodologies, and principles;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;
