Operations Leadership Role in Fulfillment Center

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at one of our fulfillment centers in Bolton, ON, Canada. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, including budgeting, people development, and process improvement initiatives. You will lead a team of Operations and Area Managers, coach and mentor them to ensure performance objectives are met, build positive employee relations, and foster a culture of excellence within the fulfillment center.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and Lean initiatives to drive operational excellence and improve business outcomes.
- Oversee the overall safety, quality, and performance of Inbound or Outbound operations, ensuring that they meet and exceed business plan targets.
- Set clear requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measure their performance, provide feedback, and hold them accountable for achieving results.
- Leverage the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area.
- Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and among the network.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years of experience working with Amazon.
- 7+ years of direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
- Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques.
- Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and termination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field and MBA preferred.
- Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
- Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation.
