The Electronics Technician - Apprentice will be a key member of the Maintenance department at Calfrac, responsible for addressing electrical issues and performing preventative maintenance on all components of our equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Work safely in accordance with all company safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
- Repair and maintain all Calfrac electrical equipment and components
- Maintain all recording and control software
- Complete updates and modification requests
- Perform preventive maintenance on a regular basis
- Assist in scheduling and costs for repairs
- Develop a base understanding of fracturing, coiled tubing and cementing operations
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts (shift work, day shift, night shift)
- Follow and enforce safe work procedures, codes, and regulations
- Energetic self-starter, able to work in a dynamic environment
- Able to handle multiple tasks by prioritizing and maintaining a high attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Work and inspire others to work at high performance levels
- Work under physically demanding circumstances
- Able to write reports and work closely with maintenance administration personnel
- Able to operate process control equipment
- Mechanically inclined
- Enrolled in, or working towards, an accredited one or two year technical school program or Journeyman Instrumentation Certification
- Good understanding and experience with basic hydraulic systems
- Experience with electric over hydraulic / air and PLC is considered an asset
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Technical training diploma or certificate in electronics recommended
- Knowledge of electronic control systems, QA-QC, and troubleshooting
