Heavy Equipment Technician

AGC Mining Recruitment Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with heavy equipment in open cast mining environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a high level of Environmental and Health and Safety performance.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy mining equipment and ancillary equipment.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Respond to mechanical issues in the maintenance shop and in the field.
Requirements:
  • Red Seal Certification (Heavy Duty Equipment Technician) preferred.
  • High School Certificate.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a heavy equipment repair apprenticeship program or a combination of over 4 years of work experience and industry courses.
  • 3-5 years of mining experience with hands-on repair of haul trucks, shovels, excavators, and other heavy equipment.
Technical Competencies & Skills:
  • Ability to work effectively in both shop and field environments.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour day and night shifts on a 7x7 rotation.
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and the capability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of mining processes and mine monitoring control systems (operations and maintenance).
