About the Role

This position reports directly to the Construction Manager and is responsible for overseeing the execution of construction projects from start to finish. Key responsibilities include:

  • Project Planning and Coordination
    • Develop and implement project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans;
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project deadlines are met;
    • Maintain accurate records of project progress, including documentation, timelines, and budget variances;
  • Team Management and Supervision
    • SUPERVISE A TEAM OF 3-4 LABOURERS, INSULATORS AND OTHER TRADES PEOPLE;
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary resources and training to complete tasks efficiently;
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to improve team performance;
  • Communication and Problem-Solving
    • Effectively communicate project status, progress, and any issues or concerns to stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and contractors;
    • Identify and resolve conflicts, delays, or other obstacles that may impact project timelines or budgets;
    • Develop and implement corrective action plans to mitigate risks and ensure project success;
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures;
    • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks;
    • Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address unexpected incidents;

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for this role include:

  • Successful project delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards;
  • High levels of customer satisfaction, as measured through surveys and feedback;
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement, resulting in minimal disputes or conflicts;
  • Improved process efficiency and productivity, leading to cost savings and increased revenue;
  • Strong health and safety record, with zero incidents or near misses;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field;
  • At least 5 years of experience in project coordination, supervision, or management in the construction industry;
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Experience with project management software, such as Asana, Trello, or MS Project;
