We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at NVA Canada in North Bay, Ontario. Key Responsibilities



  • Efficiently and accurately perform clerical and reception duties including client and patient intake and discharge, patient scheduling, answering questions, and maintaining front office and exam room flow
  • Schedule appointments appropriately based on patient condition and appointment calendar
  • Provide top-notch client care services both in person and over the phone
  • Maintain communication between clients and veterinary care team
  • Assist with client education by reiterating medical recommendations on general pet care and post-treatment instructions
  • Routinely contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the practice
  • Accurately perform daily invoicing, cash management, and reconciliation


Requirements



  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic is preferred and knowledge of Avimark is an asset, however, not mandatory
  • Must be a self-starter, able to multi-task and be a team player
  • Accurate record keeping in accordance with hospital protocols
  • Positive attitude and desire to support both pets and people alike
  • Strong communication and customer service skills are required to interact effectively with both clients and team members
  • Compassion and patience when handling animals and interacting with pet owners
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members


Compensation and Benefits


The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $42,000-$52,000 CAD, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer comprehensive health coverage, a Wellness Spending Account, RRSP matching, employee pet discounts, continuing education opportunities, and a scrub allowance.



Working Hours


This is a part-time position, approximately 20-30 hours per week, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. If you are passionate about animals and are interested in joining a team of highly devoted and skilled animal advocates, then our hospital might be the right fit for you.
