Job Title: Educational Assistant - Special Education

Job Summary:

The Near North District School Board is seeking a qualified Educational Assistant to support students with diverse exceptionalities in a special education program. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver individualized support and programming to students with autism, behavioral exceptionalities, physical and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide individualized support to students with diverse exceptionalities, including those with autism, behavioral exceptionalities, physical and developmental disabilities
* Assist with implementing alternative program goals, therapy goals, and sensory breaks
* Support students with toileting needs, communication requirements, and outings
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans

Requirements:

* Two-year post-secondary certificate or diploma in the social services field
* Experience working with students with diverse exceptionalities, including those with autism, behavioral exceptionalities, physical and developmental disabilities
* Knowledge of support strategies, including ABA, Behaviour Management Systems, CPS, and Augmentative Communication
* Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a school-based team
