Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across various routes, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:- Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
- Logistics: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Customer Service: Address customers' complaints or concerns, providing excellent communication and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Documentation: Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes, and maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Certifications: Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Language: Fluency in English.
