Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Scheduling and coordinating work on sites.
  • Supervising other workers.
  • Estimating costs and materials.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Requirements:
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in the trade.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy, dusty environments.
  • Ability to work in construction, various locations, renovation, commercial, and residential settings.
  • Ability to maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures.
  • Ability to supervise 1 to 2 people.
  • Ability to pass a criminal record check.
  • Ability to travel regularly.
Work Environment:

The Carpenter will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling. The ability to handle heavy loads, work under tight deadlines, and maintain a physically demanding workload is essential.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Language:

The primary language of work is English.

Work Schedule:

The Carpenter will work 35 to 40 hours per week.
