Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Lloydminster, Alberta. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for commercial and oil and gas facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including low and medium voltage power distribution, PLC and DCS control systems, and equipment layout and control panel designs.
  • Conduct hazardous area classification, cable sizing, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Collaborate with clients and other engineering disciplines to discuss findings and provide solutions.
  • Work with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software to create and manage electrical designs and documents.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, such as API, CEC, NEC, NFPA, etc.
Requirements:
  • Registration with a Canadian professional engineering or engineering technologist association, or as a registered Journeyman electrician, red seal endorsed.
  • Experience in electrical design, project management, and quality assurance and control.
  • Knowledge of power system modeling software, such as ETAP, and proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with team members and external clients.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual or in a team and possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
