Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Student Nurse to join our team as an Employed Student Nurse (ESN). This is a unique opportunity for a nursing student to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting while earning a salary.
Job SummaryThe ESN program provides a nursing employment opportunity to work in a clinical setting of up to 400 hours of hands-on experience with pay. As an ESN, you will provide direct nursing care to both stable and unstable patients/residents/clients appropriate to the level of education and training you have received to date in your nursing program.
About the RoleAs an ESN, you will work under the supervision of experienced nurses and educators to develop your clinical skills and knowledge. You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, participating in team meetings, and contributing to the development of your unit's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients/residents/clients in a clinical setting
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve patient-centered care
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of unit policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain a high level of clinical knowledge and skills
- Currently enrolled in a recognized nursing education program in BC
- Have successfully completed 2nd Year of your BScN program or equivalent
- Have successfully completed at least one Adult Medical or Surgical rotation in your BScN program
- Be registered (or eligible for registration) with BCCNM as an Employed Student Registrant
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (Healthcare Provider CPR)
