About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Educational Support Specialist. This is a Temporary Full-Time position available in our school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide educational instruction and support to students, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement Individual Program Plans (IPPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Assist students with accessing technology and other resources to enhance their learning experience.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of all students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as behavior management, special needs support, and inclusive education.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary certificate or vocational certificate in child care/development or behavior management, with demonstrated experience working with students with special needs.
  • Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in an inclusive learning environment is an asset.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certificates are required.
