Financial Analyst Co-op Role

Sun Life is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst Co-op to join our team. As a Financial Analyst Co-op, you will assist with annual planning, monthly financial reporting, and budgeting. You will provide analytical input and support with financial reporting, including financial modeling and forecasting for one of our main product segments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the monthly and quarterly financial statement close process, leading to quarterly AVP and VP sign-offs.
  • Support the monthly and quarterly assets under administration (AUA) reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team on various RFPs as required.
  • Investigate and effectively communicate issues with the creation and distribution of reports, and assist in resolving these issues.
  • Develop and improve financial tools and reporting processes to support strategic initiatives and evolving reporting requirements.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a university undergraduate program with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Math.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to summarize large amounts of data and articulate findings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to accurately communicate financial results and collaborate with key partners.
