We are seeking a highly skilled Child Development Specialist to join our team at Roc Tone School Inc. DBA Harbourside Children's Centre.

Job Description

The Child Development Specialist will be responsible for assessing children's development and creating personalized learning plans tailored to their needs.

You will develop and implement child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development in children.

Your role will involve leading activities such as telling stories, teaching songs, and taking children on outings to local points of interest.

You will encourage children to express creativity through various mediums, engage them in activities, and guide them in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.

In addition, you will observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.

You will also discuss progress and problems with colleagues during staff meetings.

Certifications and Training

We require an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate.

A criminal record check and immunization records are also necessary.

Additional Responsibilities

You will assist newcomers and refugees with settlement needs, such as housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.

You will support their social and labor market integration by facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.

Benefits

This is a permanent position, working 30-40 hours per week.

The work language is English.
