Role Summary

This position is for a qualified and experienced Adjunct Professor in Protective Services to teach at Confederation College. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the field and be passionate about sharing their knowledge with students.

About the Role

Confederation College is seeking a Part-Time Faculty member to teach in our Protective Services program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Police Foundations, Pre-Service Firefighter, or a related field, and be able to design, develop, and deliver courses and/or labs that meet the needs of our diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Designing and delivering high-quality educational content that meets the needs of our students;
  • Evaluating student progress and achievement using a variety of evaluative tools;
  • Providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and other stakeholders;
  • Maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines;
  • Participating in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with industry developments.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A post-secondary qualification (degree preferred) in a discipline related to the subject matter to be taught;
  • Expertise and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the applicable discipline;
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities;

Desirable Qualifications

Prior teaching or training experience at the post-secondary level would be an asset. A Master's level degree or a degree in Education or an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be beneficial.

Salary Range

The salary range for this part-time position is estimated to be between $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Contract faculty can teach one course a week or multiple courses.
