About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Assistant to join our team at Evelyn's Coffee Bar Banff. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Bakery Operations: Bake mixed dough and batters, prepare special orders, and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards, inspect kitchen and food service areas, and operate machinery.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory, and prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, standing for extended periods, and handling heavy loads.
  • Physical Capabilities: Possess attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work under pressure.
Personal Qualities and Experience
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, reliable, and a team player.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a bakery or related field.
