Job Title: Project Construction Supervisor

Aquatera Utilities Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Construction Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for assisting project managers in the supervision of contractors completing capital projects.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring on-site progress, reviewing work quality, and providing input on contractor requests for information and change orders. You will also be responsible for reviewing contractor schedules, construction plans, and drawings, as well as ensuring contractors are following contractual design and construction standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor on-site progress and review work quality
  • Provide input on contractor requests for information and change orders
  • Review contractor schedules, construction plans, and drawings
  • Ensure contractors are following contractual design and construction standards
  • Prepare project status reports for project managers
  • Review and provide input on contractor permits and permit plans
  • Assist in communication and planning between contractors and Aquatera operation and engineering departments
  • Review surveys and geotechnical reports
  • Track contractor overall budget and forecast to complete
Requirements:
  • Graduated from a recognized engineering degree program or engineering technology diploma program
  • Five years of construction, project, and/or other relevant experience
  • Registration with APEGA or ASET would be a plus
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Ability to familiarize oneself with the technical nature of Aquatera's operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong technical report writing skills
  • Valid Alberta Driver's License (Class V)
Working Conditions:
  • Variable hour work week as required by project demands
  • May be required to work outside normal business hours and on weekends
  • May be exposed to hazards associated with the services we provide
  • Site visits where PPE is required
  • Long periods of standing may be required during site inspections
