Nursing Opportunity in Critical Care

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) at Vancouver General Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill clients with unpredictable outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team to enhance client outcomes.
  • Consult, confer, and collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive client care.
  • Maintain and advance your own clinical competence to provide expert care.
  • Participate in designated hospital committees and research projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of a recognized critical care nursing program or two years' recent, related clinical experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family-centred model of care.
  • Thorough knowledge of the indications, actions, reactions, routes, dosages, and side effects of anaesthetic and other drugs used in critical care.
  • Demonstrated ability in nursing practice to assess and manage critical and life-threatening situations.
