Newborn Hearing Screener

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Newborn Hearing Screener to join our team at Prairie Mountain Health. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in identifying infants who require hearing screening and ensuring that they receive the necessary care and support.
Responsibilities- Infant Identification: Identify infants who are ready for hearing screening and explain the process to family members or caregivers.
- Hearing Screening: Administer computerized hearing screenings to newborns and infants who meet the established criteria, following established protocols and procedures.
- Documentation: Document screening results, including opt-out/refusal or pass/referral, in client health information records and other documentation as required.
- Communication: Communicate screening results to other professionals as needed and schedule follow-up appointments as required.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and troubleshoot the functioning of screening equipment, including cleaning and disinfecting units after each use.
- Administrative Support: Perform administrative support duties, including scheduling appointments, inputting data into computer programs, and compiling information as needed.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of client and staff information.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Grade 12 education (MB Standards)
- A Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology Rehabilitation Assistant course (or equivalent) or a Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program
- A minimum of one year of experience working in a health care setting
- Experience working with newborns, infants, and children
- Demonstrated computer skills, including accurate word processing and working with Microsoft Windows, MS Office, databases, and the internet
- A Province of Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health
