About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fish Plant Labourer to join our team at Petit-Cap Fisheries Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient processing and handling of fish and shellfish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Handling: Transport fish and shellfish to the work area, ensuring they are properly stored and handled to prevent damage.
  • Quality Control: Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing, and weigh fish or shellfish, recording weight and packing them in ice.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean machines and immediate work areas, and measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines.
  • Sorting and Packaging: Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination, and pack them accordingly.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: The role requires working in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, and may involve standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
