About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team at Seascape Advisory Inc. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
  • Hardware and Software Evaluation: Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide problem-solving services to network users, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Security Measures: Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect our network from potential threats.
  • Network Monitoring: Perform routine network start-up and close-down, maintain control records, and perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Network Optimization: Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet, and implement network traffic and security monitoring software to optimize server performance.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster, and provide support to help them integrate into our community.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations to promote diversity and inclusion.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, and promote a culture of inclusivity and respect.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Hours: 30 hours per week.
