Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

At Global Waste Services Inc, we are seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive lighter, special purpose trucks to transport goods and materials across the country.
  • Load and unload goods in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs as needed.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption as required.
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo during transport.
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods as required.
Requirements:
  • DZ class license required.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience as a Long Haul Truck Driver.
