About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at The Grocery Store. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of 5-10 staff members, including cooks and kitchen helpers.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to ensure a high level of quality and efficiency.
  • Food Quality and Safety
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards by implementing effective methods to meet work schedules and estimating ingredient and supply requirements.
    • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
    • Prepare and submit reports to management.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to achieve common goals and objectives.
    • Communicate effectively with staff, management, and customers to ensure a positive and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Work Environment
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Flexibility and ability to work in a team environment.
