Senior BAS Technician Job Description

Ainsworth is seeking a highly skilled Senior BAS Technician to join our Ottawa team. As a key member of our project team, you will work closely with our BAS Project Manager to deliver exceptional BAS solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of BAS solutions for our construction and operation departments.
  • Collaborate with our project team to ensure successful site commissioning, point-to-point verifications, troubleshooting, and startups of BAS, HVAC equipment, and lighting controls systems.
  • Contribute to project and service group documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Ainsworth's Safe Work and H&S Policies, and demonstrate a commitment to a safe working environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with HVAC and DDC fundamentals, as well as Schneider Electric BAS product portfolio, and demonstrate expertise in these areas.
  • Complete Schneider Electric product-specific training prior to factory training, and demonstrate a working knowledge of BAS networking and system integration.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a BAS technician role.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by Ainsworth.
  • Pass security screening as required by Ainsworth's government clients, and/or be bondable.
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral; fluency in French is a definite asset.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specs, as well as product documentation.
  • Graduate of a post-secondary technical or engineering program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Visio or scripted programming language.
  • Ability to perform medium physical duties, including standing for long periods, climbing ladders, and working from heights (with fall arrest protection provided).
  • Some travel may be required, with reimbursement for mileage and expenses.
