Sessional Lecturer Position Overview
The University of Toronto is seeking a qualified individual to fill a Sessional Lecturer position in the Executive Master of Health Informatics (eMHI) program. This is a key role in the development and delivery of health information systems.
Course Title and Description
The course title is eMHI2009H: Evaluation Methods for Health Informatics. This course is designed to demystify the evaluation process and provide students with the tools needed to build a solid evaluation plan for every new eHealth project.
Course Objectives
- Understand the various approaches, tools, and techniques used to evaluate health information systems.
- Appropriately apply evaluation and research tools required to implement an evaluation plan.
- Formulate and assess the merits of a health information system evaluation plan based on project objectives and goals.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a PhD or Masters level education with recent experience in clinical and health informatics, preferably in the areas of ICT adoption, implementation, and evaluation. They will also have a robust understanding of clinical/clinician work processes, as influenced by health informatics and related technology. Additionally, they will have extensive experience with digital health evaluations and prior experience in curriculum development and adult teaching-learning methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Course instructor for a professional graduate course using competency-based learning and assessment methods.
- Responsible for course design and assessment of student outcomes. Must be accessible to students outside of classroom hours.
Salary and Benefits
Salary is commensurate with experience. The University of Toronto offers a comprehensive benefits package.
How to Apply
Applications will be accepted until September 25, 2024. Preference will be given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.

Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
