Job Posting for Sessional Instructor (Lab Coordinator)

Position Overview:
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Toronto is seeking a highly qualified sessional lecturer to coordinate in-person laboratories in CHM135H1 (Chemistry: Physical Principles) during the 2025 Winter session.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate in-person laboratories, including laboratory preparation and delivery, supervision of lab demonstrators, invigilating and marking tests and exams, and holding office hours.
- Ensure effective coordination of labs and adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
- Supervise and support lab demonstrators to ensure high-quality instruction and student learning outcomes.
- Develop and implement assessment strategies to evaluate student learning and progress.
- Collaborate with course instructors and departmental staff to ensure seamless course delivery.
Requirements:
- A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field is required.
- Experience lecturing and/or coordinating laboratories in general or physical chemistry at the university level will be preferred.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position will be determined in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.
