About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Central Pharmacy Services team at Shoppers Drug Mart. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of prepared medication, while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify the accuracy of prepared medication, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and product quality standards.
  • Identify and correct any discrepancies or errors in medication preparation.
  • Count and reconcile Narcotic and Controlled medications with precision and attention to detail.
  • Organize and manage workflow to ensure timely delivery of medication to customers.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to regulations regarding sensitive information.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal requirements, professional standards, and workplace policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), in good standing.
  • Liability insurance to practice as a RPhT.
  • A minimum of 1 year of continuous experience in a pharmacy environment (Long Term Care, Hospital, or Retail).
  • Experience with high-volume filling environments is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Teammate and leadership skills.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
