About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our team at Sandher Truck and Trailer Repair. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet by performing thorough repairs and maintenance on heavy trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, utilizing computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions, adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts as needed.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and adherence to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work to prevent equipment failure.
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A diploma or certificate in a relevant trade, such as diesel mechanics.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar position, with equivalent skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Physical stamina to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment and Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a noisy environment. You must be able to:

  • Bend, crouch, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Use hand-eye coordination and have good fine motor skills.
  • Work safely and efficiently, following all company policies and procedures.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $60,000 to $80,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. This figure may vary depending on your level of experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer:
