Senior Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team at Robotic Assistance Devices. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a vital role in the design, development, and implementation of innovative robotics products.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned mechanical designer with a passion for robotics and product development. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test prototypes, ensuring high-quality products that meet customer needs.

Main Responsibilities

- Design and develop innovative robotics products from concept to production
- Collaborate with industrial designers to create manufacturable parts and ensure timely delivery and cost objectives
- Work alongside manufacturing teams to inspect and verify incoming parts for compliance with design specifications
- Maintain accurate design documentation and records
- Assist in first production builds and support sustaining work

Key Qualifications

- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Excellent 2D and 3D CAD software skills (SolidWorks preferred)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Bonus Points

- Experience in robotics and product development in a start-up environment
- Knowledge of PLM systems (Upchain)
- Ability to work with multiple fast prototyping processes
- Design experience with injection molding, casting, and sheet metal
- Familiarity with Jira, Atlassian, and Lucidcharts
