Executive Director, University Procurement

The University of Toronto seeks a seasoned leader to drive strategic procurement initiatives and ensure effective delivery of procurement activities within a complex and decentralized organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement institutional procurement strategies, policies, and systems that align with the university's vision and goals.
- Ensure compliance with broader public sector procurement regulations and leverage data, technology, and purchasing power to drive cost efficiencies.
- Partner with senior management, faculty, and departmental users to deliver innovative and solutions-focused financial stewardship.
- Oversee the staff of the university's procurement services department and direct the work of the unit to achieve a vision of excellence in procurement.
- University degree in business with a Public Procurement certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Progressive leadership experience in public sector procurement with a proven track record of managing and motivating effective teams.
- Strong business acumen, project management, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build consensus, foster cooperation, and drive compliance through effective negotiation and relationship building.
