Executive Director, University Procurement

About the Role:
The University of Toronto is seeking a seasoned procurement professional to lead its procurement services department. As Executive Director, University Procurement, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic procurement initiatives that drive cost efficiencies and support the university's research and learning mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the university's vision and goals
- Oversee the procurement services department, directing the work of staff to deliver high-quality services
- Partner with senior management, faculty, and departmental users to understand their procurement needs and develop solutions
- Leverage data, technology, and the university's purchasing power to drive cost efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with broader public sector procurement regulations
Requirements:
- University degree in business or related field
- Public procurement certification or equivalent experience
- Progressive leadership experience in public sector procurement
- Proven track record of managing and motivating effective teams in a complex, unionized environment
- Strong business acumen and expertise in project management, problem-solving, and process improvement
