Job Overview

We are seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our team at Hawkesbury General Hospital & District General Hospital. As a Recreation Therapist, you will provide recreational activities and programs to enhance the quality of life for patients in our Transitional Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide recreation and leisure assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation to achieve individual goals
  • Design and implement recreational activities tailored to patients' needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams to achieve individual goals
Requirements
  • College degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies or related field
  • Registered member of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario
  • 1 year of experience working with the elderly
  • Relevant health care experience
  • Valid certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals in both English and French
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous pension plan.
