Job Title: Junior Inspector

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Inspector to join our Contract Administration team in the Transportation sector. As a Junior Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing contractor compliance with contractual requirements, taking accurate measurements, and preparing daily site observation reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee contractor compliance with contractual requirements
  • Take accurate and detailed measurements of work performed by contractors
  • Prepare daily site observation reports and maintain a daily photograph log
  • Assist Contract Administrator/Senior Inspector in preparing internal/external reports and status reports to clients
  • Review contractor submissions for compliance with contractual obligations
  • Confirm qualifications and certifications for contractor employees, resources, and equipment

Requirements:

  • Recent grad from Civil Technician or Technologist Program
  • Registration or ability to register with OACETT as a.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations (environmental, health and safety)
  • Knowledge of design standards, Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications/Standard drawings (OPSS/OPSD's), and methods and materials associated with municipal/highway construction
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word and Excel)
  • Previous experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D would be considered an asset
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel to construction site
  • Able to work overtime on weekends and nights as required
