Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Developer

Join our team at Macdonald, Dettwiler And Associates Corporation as an Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Developer and contribute to the design, integration, and testing of satellite payloads and related space electronics products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement automation pipelines for electronic development teams
  • Provide support for the infrastructure installation and maintenance of engineering tools
  • Build and improve delivery pipelines (CI/CD)
  • Explore and evaluate new software tools, technologies, and practices
  • Implement and maintain application/system monitoring to identify key performance metrics
  • Perform system administration tasks, such as configuration management and infrastructure as code (IaC) template creation
  • Manage engineering tools and 3rd-party IP (procurement, licensing, installation, upgrade, maintenance renewal, computing capacity planning)
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience with scripting languages used for automation (Python, Groovy, Bash, etc.)
  • Relevant CI/CD engineering experience
  • Understanding of FPGA, board design, and/or software development tools
  • Experience implementing and integrating continuous delivery pipelines in Jenkins
  • Knowledge of agile software development practices
  • Knowledge of infrastructure design, provisioning, and management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Nice to Have:
  • Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with source control (Git, SVN)
  • Experience with automating environments on Azure Cloud
  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestrators (Kubernetes)
  • Experience with configuration management tools
  • Experience with SQL Databases
  • Understanding of network load balancing and TLS (Transport Layer Security)
  • Some experience in Web development to provide development teams with GUI tools
  • Knowledge to build and deploy Virtual Machines (VMware, VSphere, VirtualBox)
  • Experience working with security governance and audit teams
