Clinical Nurse Specialist

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist - Addictions to join our team. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide expert nursing care to patients experiencing problematic substance use.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional care team.
- Provide direct nursing care, including crisis intervention, treatment, and group facilitation.
- Collaborate with Emergency Nurses to process physician orders and manage emergencies.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with the interprofessional care team to facilitate communication and decision-making around client care.
- Assess the learning needs of patients and their families and provide education on topics such as withdrawal management, relapse prevention, and health promotion strategies.
- Graduation from an approved Nursing Program with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of approved addictions or substance use training, or substance use certificate program, and one year's recent related experience working in an addictions environment with individuals with substance use disorders.
- Successful completion of St. John's Ambulance Safety Orientated First Aide Certificate and current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) level C.
