The City of Côte Saint-Luc is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join its management team as City Treasurer. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and public sector governance.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective management of the City's financial resources.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the City Council and senior management team.
- Manage the City's budget, including preparing and submitting budget proposals, monitoring expenditures, and making recommendations for budget adjustments.
- Provide financial guidance and support to City departments and staff.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including financial institutions, auditors, and other government agencies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and laws, and ensure compliance with all relevant requirements.
- Relevant university degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a public sector or non-profit organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed recommendations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
