Job Title: City Treasurer

The City of Côte Saint-Luc is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join its management team as City Treasurer. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and public sector governance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve the City's goals and objectives.
  • Manage the City's financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation and coordination of the City's operating and capital budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to City departments and staff.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls and risk management practices.
  • Manage the City's debt and investment portfolio.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the City Council and senior management.
Requirements:
  • Relevant university degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the public sector.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of financial software and systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
