About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Server/Bartender to join our front-of-house team at the Calgary Zoo's catering department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer questions about beverage menu items and make recommendations to guests
  • Prepare beverage orders and set up bartending stations and dining areas
  • Deliver food and beverage according to our standards and policies
  • Monitor bar inventory levels and communicate needs to the team leader
  • Perform closing cleaning duties and adhere to all policies and procedures related to alcohol and liquor laws
  • Provide exceptional customer service and follow all organizational policies and procedures

Requirements

  • 1-2 years' experience in a Bartending or Serving role, with experience in a banquet role preferred
  • ProServe Certification is required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Friendly, outgoing personality and independent worker

Working Conditions

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Labour-intensive work with heavy lifting up to 50lbs
  • Frequent walking and standing for long periods of time required
  • May be exposed to hazardous cleaning chemicals and supplies, hot food preparation equipment, smoke, and other hazardous conditions common to commercial food preparation areas
