Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Address customer complaints and concerns
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Load and unload goods
  • Obtain special permits and documents required for international routes
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks
  • Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Tarp and ensure safety and security of cargo
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods
Requirements:
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection report, and trip reports
  • Flatbed, refrigerated, tractor-trailer, and tractor-trailer B train experience
  • GPS and navigation equipment operation
  • Long-haul transportation experience
  • Driving record check (abstract)
  • Attention to detail, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, sitting, and weight handling
  • Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, and team player
