About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Landscaping Foreman/Woman to join our team at Clintar Landscape Management. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our grounds maintenance crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Lead and manage a team of grounds maintenance professionals, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive grounds maintenance plans, including lawn care, tree service, and snow removal.
  • Organize and Direct Construction Projects: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative or retaining walls, and other outdoor features.
  • Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Coordinate and execute large-scale landscape construction projects, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Accurately record and maintain all work-related data, including hours worked, materials used, and equipment maintenance.
  • Read Blueprints and Drawings: Interpret and understand blueprints and drawings to ensure that all construction projects are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including chain saws, pick-up trucks, and small engine equipment.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Procure all necessary materials, equipment, and supplies to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Identify and resolve work-related issues, provide technical guidance, and recommend improvements to increase productivity and quality.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Requirements
  • 3-4 Years of Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory role, with a strong background in grounds maintenance and construction.
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Proficient in the use of chain saws, pick-up trucks, small engine equipment, and tractor mowers.
  • Area of Work Experience: Snow removal, lawn care, tree service, and grounds maintenance.
  • Area of Specialization: Lawn care, tree service, and grounds maintenance.
  • Security and Safety: Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, with a valid driver's license.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines, and handle heavy loads.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication skills, initiative, judgement, and a team player attitude.
