Job Title: Indigenous Language and International Languages Educators
Job Summary:
We are seeking highly qualified and experienced Indigenous Language and International Languages Educators to join our team at the York Region District School Board. As an educator in this role, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and coordinating programs that promote language learning and cultural understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver programs that cater to the diverse needs of students, incorporating current teaching practices and methodologies.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting equity and respect for all students.
- Communicate effectively with administrators, parents, and students to ensure student progress and well-being.
- Develop and maintain relationships with parents and the community to promote student learning and engagement.
- Supervise students as assigned and perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Ontario College of Teachers Certification for credit courses.
- Qualifications in both Intermediate and/or Senior.
- Fluency in Urdu is an asset (with the ability to pass a conversational fluency test with community partners).
- Some teaching experience, preferably in language teaching.
