Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the consignment department, overseeing the sales team, and ensuring the smooth execution of auctions. This includes planning and evaluating the activities of the sales team, reviewing and approving consignment sales, and instructing the research and editorial departments to analyze historic files and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Auction Planning and Execution: Plan, direct, and evaluate the consignment activities of the sales team, including reviewing and managing consignment sales.
  • Research and Analysis: Instruct the RM Group's Research and Editorial Departments to research and analyze historic files pertaining to potential high-profile cars.
  • Market Trend Analysis: Analyze market trends of similar models to establish a base value and determine if the car meets the requirements for an RM auction.
  • Client Communication: Ensure that RM Group Sales staff properly communicate with clients on terms and conditions, address title and registration work, gather required contractual documents, and build client relationships.
  • Auction Promotion: Manage and promote RM auctions to existing and potential clients as an auctioneer.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of management experience in an auction environment, including private sales of investment-quality and vintage cars.
  • Skills: Experience managing a team of salespeople, analyzing market trends, maintaining and building new client relationships, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
