About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team at the City of Thunder Bay. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic nursing care to residents, including assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Encourage and support resident participation in activities of daily living, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of resident care plans, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Report changes in residents' physical and mental condition to the Registered Nurse, documenting as per policy.
  • Maintain a safe environment for residents and staff, responding appropriately to emergencies and safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a recognized personal support worker or developmental services worker program.
  • Enrolled at a college or university in the registered practical nursing or registered nursing program.
  • A genuine interest and understanding of the needs of the elderly.
  • Certification in CPR.
  • Competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
