Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Visual Communications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our design department, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation of visually appealing materials, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a senior graphic designer or graphic arts technician, supervising junior staff members and providing guidance on best practices and design principles.
  • Develop detailed project plans, estimating time requirements and resources needed to complete complex designs and illustrations.
  • Maintain a multidisciplinary environment, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Coordinate all aspects of production for print, audio-visual, and electronic materials, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional quality.
  • Source external vendors and manage sub-contracting processes, maintaining relationships and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Work closely with clients to define the overall look, feel, and content of communications materials, establishing clear guidelines and expectations.
  • Determine the most suitable medium and vehicle for achieving desired visual effects, balancing creativity with practical considerations.
  • Establish and enforce design standards for illustrators and photographers, promoting consistency and excellence throughout our creative output.
  • Prepare concept sketches, layouts, and graphics elements, leveraging existing resources such as photo and illustration banks, typography guides, and other reference materials.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, ideally in a field related to visual communications or design.
  • A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the graphic design or multimedia industry.
Benefits

  • Hours: Flexible schedule with approximately 30 hours per week.
Estimated Salary Range

$40,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on experience and location.
